Second Half Predictions

MLB

Now that we've reached the halfway point of the MLB season, it's time for our crazy, off-the-wall second half predictions.

Ricky Nolasco will win 15 games this season.

Pedro Martinez will rebound to finish the season at .500, but his days of having an ERA under 4.00 are long gone.

Matt Holliday is traded to the Twins for two of their young pitchers.

A-Rod and Madonna become an "item".

Ryan Howard wins the NL homerun title.

The Mets will finish above .500, but will miss the playoffs.

No one will want Bronson Arroyo's contract, and he will remain with the Reds.

The Rays will make the playoffs, fending off the Tigers and Twins to capture the AL wild card.

Geovanny Soto will win the NL Rookie of the Year Award.

Mike Pelfrey will regress in the second half and lose his starting spot in the Mets rotation.

Evan Longoria will win the AL Rookie of the Year Award.

Tom Glavine will attempt a comeback, but will retire before the baseball season ends.

Eric Gagne won't have another save this season.

The Blue Jays will fire JP Riccardi before the season ends.

Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder battle for the NL MVP.

Jason Giambi wins the AL HR title.

Wilson Betemit finds more playing time with the Yankees.

Tim Redding (6-3) finishes the season under .500.

Dontrelle Willis doesn't return this season and contemplates the Rick Ankiel route back to the majors.

Rick Ankiel wins a Gold Glove.

Baseball News and Notes

The New York fans and media have ripped Carlos Delgado on a daily basis due to his lack of production. Currently, Delgado has 45RBI. That's more RBIs than Vladimir Guerrero, Jim Thome, B.J. Upton, Carlos Pena, and Torii Hunter.

Speaking of Hunter, what is going on? 9HR 37RBI and a .272 average is not what the Angels envisioned when they gave him the huge contract.

Evan Longoria is the third baseman everyone thought Alex Gordon would be. Gordon is having a solid season, but we all expected more from him.

How's Kenny Lofton feeling now about turning down the Rays contract offer before the season started? They are better off without him.
